Assertiveness:

This training will teach you how to confront problematic behavior in yourself and others and how to effectively negotiate mutual solutions. Assertiveness training will bolster your self-confidence by allowing you to recognize manipulative behavior and minimize its effect on you.

Objectives:

  • Understand the philosophy of being assertive.
  • Recognize the differences between assertive, aggressive and manipulative behavior and how to handle each.
  • Determine your assertiveness quotient and communication style with self-assessment exercises.
  • Learn nonverbal and verbal techniques to enhance your assertive communication skills.
  • Gain the courage to be assertive in the most appropriate and effective way.
  • Learn to express and accept disapproval and disagreement without opposing.
  • Learn to negotiate mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Learn how to resolve conflict and pressure situations without destroying the spirit of cooperation.
  • Practice, role-play, problem-solve and discuss.
  • Translate what you learn into action.
